crushed purple velvet slip.

by Ted Stenson:

On the obscure Prince tip here is one of the alleged hundred tracks Prince recorded for Purple Rain. Legend holds that the Puple One gave one hundred songs to the record label and said "pick ten". Each song was encased in it's own crushed purple velvet slip sleeve upon which read the title of the song in pure spun gold crafted by serpentine maidens living in a lake just east of Minnesota. This gold lettering was said to have a hypnotizing effect on whoever read it and the record executives were duly cast deep under it's spell. They began making love to one another whereupon an electrical storm was triggered in the sky causing a bolt of lightning to hit the Warner Brothers building. Only Prince survived and vowing never to release this all too potent torrent of music banished all but the ten least volatile tracks to his Paisley Park vault. These ten songs would become the Purple Rain album and would gain Prince international fame. While excavating the rubble of the building however a single purple slip sleeve was uncovered, the gold lettering luckily having been burned off. This song was released as a booleg and aptly titled "Electric Intercourse".
